They are the promise of what’s coming next. The stage where the plant is strong and full of life, quietly preparing for the abundance of late summer.

When I began mixing this color, I kept thinking about those mornings walking through the garden rows — brushing past the vines, checking the fruit, feeling the warmth of the sun on the leaves.

Green Tomato became a color that celebrates that moment of growth and anticipation.

Yesterday I shared a little reel of me painting Blue Belle — soft petals unfolding in shades of Windmill Sky and Bluebird Morning from the Prairie Paint collection.

There is something about blue flowers.

They don’t shout.
They don’t demand.
They simply bloom.

A Barn Quilt Rooted in Strength & Stillness

Some designs arrive quietly, carrying more meaning than they first reveal. The Ponderosa Star Barn Quilt is one of those pieces—steadfast, grounding, and deeply rooted.

Inspired by the towering ponderosa pine, this star reflects resilience shaped over time. Ponderosa pines grow slowly and deliberately, sinking deep roots before stretching skyward. They endure wind, weather, fire, and long seasons of waiting—standing as markers of patience, protection, and strength.

The Ponderosa Star carries that same spirit.

Our new Molasses Crinkle Barn Quilt was inspired by that feeling — the cozy, golden hues of sugar and spice baked into the heart of a winter’s day. Painted in four of our newest Prairie Paint colors — Molasses Crinkle, Gingerbread, Mocha Latte, and Browned Butter — this design captures the rustic warmth of a kitchen in full holiday bloom. Each tone was mixed to echo the soft browns and golden edges of a favorite cookie fresh from the oven.

This sweet corner is full of stories… The Honeycomb walls wrap the room in a golden hug, while our Pricilla Barn Quilt adds a pop of hand-painted charm. The vintage couch? It belonged to my grandmother and still carries the comfort of childhood naps and holiday laughter. And those little Fisher-Price toys? They’ve entertained three generations of giggles and pretend adventures.
