There is something especially lovely about adding new colors to the Prairie Paint collection. Each one begins with a feeling, a memory, or a glimpse of color found in the gardens, fields, and stories that inspire everything we create.

Today, I’m so excited to introduce two beautiful new shades: Plum Pickin and Blue Belle.

Inspired by the landscapes that shape us, the Prairie Compass is a modern interpretation of the traditional barn quilt star. Rich with earthy tones and painted by hand using our signature Prairie Paint palette, it reflects the colors of golden fields, weathered skies, moss-covered forests, mountain shadows, and sunlit meadows.

More than a geometric design, the Prairie Compass is a reminder to stay rooted in what matters most while embracing the journey ahead. Whether displayed on a porch, garden fence, barn, or inside your home, it brings warmth, heritage, and a sense of place to any space.

Women who had never met before leaning over each other's boards, encouraging one another. Sharing stories about children, gardens, travels, dreams, and life.

Celebrating each completed section as though it were their own.  By the end of the day, something remarkable had happened. Every single person left with a beautiful barn quilt.  But they also left with something less tangible. Confidence.

There are roads we choose, and roads that choose us. Some are straight and certain. Others wind, turn, pause, and begin again. Over time, all of those paths become part of us—the easy miles, the unexpected detours, the places where we had to stop and mend, and the stretches that carried us somewhere beautiful.     This barn quilt pattern is made of movement, connection, and quiet strength. The Cathedral Window Barn Quilt is one of the most meaningful designs in the Moonbeams & Cabin Dreams Collection, a series inspired by the stories of my ancestors who homesteaded the Nebraska prairie in the early 1900s. This barn quilt is a tribute to faith, family, and the places that hold our memories.     The color palette was inspired by a stained glass window dedicated to my grandmother Mildred and grandfather Alvaro in the Howard Community Church in New York.
