One of the highlights of the summer was our Olie & Evie Barn Quilt Workshop in gorgeous Idaho.  We loaded up the trailer with barn quilts, patterns and our Prairie Paints and drove through the night to wake up in the beautiful farmland of western Idaho to join the loveliest group of ladies for a day of barn quilting!  As you browse through the pictures you will see why we love our traveling workshops.  The blessing of gathering and "quilting" together brings pure joy!   We are so thankful to Rhonda from Olie and Evie for inviting us to her beautiful shop and...

Happy 4th of July!  I can't believe we are already celebrating the red, white and blue.  This is one of my favorite holidays because of the family celebrations I remember with our family on the farm in New York.  We would get together at the cottage on the lake and swim or fish...a little canoeing happened too.  A great picnic with potato salad (my favorite), rhubarb pie, and Grandma Brown's baked beans (thick and sweet).  We finished the night with fireworks over the water and a drive to the town firework show.  Lots of laughter and tons of fireflies....oh summer!...

We are so excited to share with you our newest hoop-art embroidery pattern, The Deseret Drifter Floral Embroidery Sampler.  The Deseret is a term we hear in the west often.  It is associated with the values of hard work, perseverance, inspired vision and strength.  The name of this pattern, the Deseret Drifter came to me one night as I was journaling. The buds are popping out in all of the orchards around our mountain community with bright swatch paths of pink, peach and red.  We are so excited to release our newest original barn quilt design, The Orchard Tree.   The Orchard TreeWe love this design with it's half square triangles all pointing to the heart of the tallest orchard tree in the field.  The little burst of color are the fruits of the orchard, apples, peaches and cherries.  Dry brushed on farm wood and framed in a black wash, it has the look of wood fruit crates.  Our Orchard Tree is available in...

Of the 4,600 barn quilts we have painted at Tweetle Dee over the past five years by far our most loved is the Orchard Star.  It is an original design and is now in the shop for order with a pattern releasing soon.  Adapted from our beloved Harvest Star, this star has a deep Old Crow background and colors from our Prairie Paint collection.  Each of the colors in this design were inspired by the fruits and colors of the orchard on my family's farm.  In the spring and summer, berries bursted with colors of reds, purples, and blues.  In summer, the...
